Activities:

  • Identification of Aboriginal patients
  • Health Checks for Aboriginal patients
  • Indigenous Lifescripts & GP Education
  • Collect data on Aboriginal health checks
  • Regular contact with Aboriginal community
  • Art therapy course provided as requested by the community
  • Lectures as requested by the community

Benefits:

  • The Health Checks encourage early detection and treatment of common, treatable conditions, and assists in the prevention and reduction of chronic disease and serious illnesses
  • Educational sessions aid in preventative health

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples MBS Health Assessment Resource Kit
This resource kit contains a fact sheet and proforma providing information on health assessments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people updated with changes to the MBS item numbers resulting from the MBS review.
