The Division will assist general practice to provide services in the community within the context of a broader primary health care system. The Division seeks to improve the quality of life of general practitioners to enhance their ability to provide care at the local level. The Division aims to do this by supporting general practitioners as team leaders, facilitating networking to share ideas and to further strengthen the collegiate approach to primary care. Information technology support is a key platform by which the Division will assist general practices achieve enhanced health outcomes. The Division hopes to build on its good working relationship with the local Area Health Service, its hospitals and community health staff. The Division will work towards outcomes supported by our membership to enhance the health of the local community. The Division has a strong member base and will encourage active membership participation in its programs.
